Menace premiered a new animated video 'I live With Your Ghost'

Napalm Death guitarist Mitch Harris has been up to some interesting stuff while not focusing on his gig with the grindcore legends. The new project Menace has been launched by the guitarist, and we’ve got the premiere of Menace’s new animated video for ‘I Live With Your Ghost.’

Menace was originally supposed to be a project comprised of Harris, Soulfly frontman Max Cavalera and Mastodon drummer Brann Dailor, but due to busy schedules, Mitch Harris chose to kick off the new act alone. “We all became incredibly busy and as a result new directives evolved, and to achieve my goal for Menace I needed to see the album through myself,” says Harris.

The metal veteran continues, “To me Menace is the old meeting the new; heavy and melodic, descriptive and adventurous, epic and futuristic, carnal and primitive, and so on. Menace brings unrealized dreams closer to fruition. It is about overcoming loss and hardship, and a combination of many interests including spiritual philosophy, psychology, science, physics, theatrics, the supernatural, the paranormal, film, poetry, photography, art, sculpture and video; the things I’ve focused all my energy on over the last twenty years. It’s an organic-meets-technological approach to exploration and self discovery through a direction I term audio-installationism (A.I.).”

Harris concludes, “Those familiar with my previous work will be in for a surprise and should expect the unexpected, but I’m a firm believer that even the most improbable dreams should be explored. Menace is a statement in itself, a way of saying that there is always a way forward, no matter how difficult it seems. If you are still alive, then there is still something to achieve.”

The space-themed video for ‘I Live With Your Ghost’ is awesome, showcasing the collision of two planets and the destruction and heartbreak which unfolds. You share each step with the main character (who reminds us a lot of Isaac from ‘Dead Space’), embarking on a journey as tripped-out as the song itself.

Touche Amore 'Is Survived By' , heartfelt record to date

Touche Amore have taken the time and care since 2011 to ensure that Is Survived By plays off as not only their most mature and heartfelt record to date

The post-hardcore vibe of old-school is met with a more melodic touch as seen on "Non-Fiction," in which Bolm recites in spoken word over an Envy-like tapestry before barreling into the beautiful noise that Clayton Stevens and Nick Steinhardt flex out of their guitars. They expound smartly, laying foundations for Bolm to run on, like on "Steps" which actually ramps up from the riffs on "Non-Fiction."

An album of love, life, relationships and one's purpose in the world is what best describes Is Survived By. The variety of punk, indie, hardcore and so many other musical influences are dosed in, as Touche fans would expect, but the closing title track sums it up pretty well.

Elliot Babin's pace on the drum kit is one of the best displays by a drummer in recent memory, guiding the passion and creativity of the band with a strong backbone. "Is Survived By" switches from a neat marching drum beat, to noisy fits of hardcore, back to a melodic lull before crashing once more into the boisterous nature that is Touche Amore.

Down To Nothing new video "Life on the James"

Richmond, VA's Down to Nothing have premiered a music video for "Life on the James".

The song is the title track from the band's new album, released earlier this month through Revelation Records. The clip sees the quintet engage in all manner of Summer activities on the James River - referenced in the album's title.

Says bassist Jared Carman on the album "'Life On The James' is an album concept we've wanted to create for a long time. There is a level of home town pride we've seen among all the cities we've played. The foundation of this album is something anyone can relate to, while the tracks themselves are very personal to us."

Suicidal Tendencies released '13' featured Cyco Style video

Suicidal Tendencies are back with their first new album in 13 years and as a result have decided to call the disc ’13′ (which just so happens to be the name of the new Black Sabbath album, as well). The group recently polished off the forthcoming effort with the band’s own Mike Muir co-producing the disc with Paul Northfield. In addition, fans can now get their first taste of new music courtesy of the newly released video for the single ‘Cyco Style.’

The current Suicidal Tendencies lineup consists of Muir on vocals, Dean Pleasants on lead guitar, Nico Santora on rhythm guitar, Steve Bruner on bass and Eric Moore on drums.

The release of ‘13,’ due March 26, promises to be part of a very big year for the group as the band is celebrating its 30th anniversary. Keeping true to the ’13′ theme, the album has 13 tracks on it, including ‘Cyco Style’ which is the lead single. The energetic video for the track, which mostly consists of live footage, can be seen below.

The ’13′ album also features a handful of special guests. Metal Mulisha’s Larry Linkogle and Jimmy Fitzpatrick turn up on ‘Smash It!,’ while pro skaters Danny Way, Tony Trujillo, Steve and Alex Olson, Vincent Alvarez, Elijah Berle and Jim ‘Red Dog’ Muir all lend a hand on ‘Show Some Love … Tear It Down.’

Frontman Mike Muir states, “First, thank you for all the people that have patiently waited for this record. Now I will shut up and let the music do the talking.” Speaking of which, fans can check out the music when Suicidal Tendencies hits the road this spring. After a private South by Southwest performance this week and the Cyco Family Weekend with Infectious Grooves in early April, the band will officially launch their ‘Slam City Tour’ with Madball, Sick of It All, D.R.I. and Wake the Dead April 11 in San Francisco.

Parkway Drive have unleashed 'Wild Eyes' from Atlas album

Parkway Drive have posted their video for "Wild Eyes." It's from their 2012 album, Atlas.


"This video basically continues on where 'Dark Days' left off," says drummer Ben Gordon who notes that both videos were the concept of director Aaron Hymes. "Dark Days' was commentary on present day and showed the worlds state of environmental Crisis. 'Wild Eyes' is set in the near future, after the World has been destroyed by man."

Gordon goes on to say, "the lyrical concept of 'Wild Eyes' deals with inevitable the end of the world and the impact of our actions so we ran with that idea pretty literally, taking inspiration from post apocalyptic images portrayed through films over the years. We are all stoked on this video!"


 

The Dillinger Escape Plan 'One of Us Is the Killer' is now available to stream

The Dillinger Escape Plan‘s massively anticipated fifth studio album, ‘One of Us Is the Killer,’ is now available for streaming in full.

The band has been teasing the release of the record since February of this year, and finally, you can now hear all 11 songs from the album, which is available for purchase today.

AC4 have posted 'Curva Del Diablo' video

AC4, the new hardcore project from Refused's Dennis Lyxzén, have posted the video for "Curva Del Diablo" .

AC4 is the no frills vision of musician Dennis Lyxzen, (Refused, International Noise Conspiracy, Invasionen, etc). In AC4, he is joined by friends and former members of Umea Hardcore bands DS-13, Step Forward, Regulations, E.T.A, and The Vectors. Together AC4 pay homage to bands like Minor Threat while adding their own spin to the tried and true spirit that brought inspiration in their youth.

Released by a partnership of Deathwish and the Ny Vag label (Scandinavia) "Burn The World" is the second album from AC4. "Burn The World" is sixteen songs of social, political, and personal unrest transformed into primitive hardcore punk anthems. All of them awesomely executed and uniquely unforgettable.

Dillinger Escape Plan unleashed 'When I Lost My Bet' video

Dillinger Escape Plan have pulled the top off a video for ‘When I Lost My Bet.’ Dillinger, didn’t just shoot a simple video of them jamming in an abandoned warehouse. This clip is as deranged visually as it is sonically, creating a quintessential Dillinger Escape Plan experience.

The Dillinger Escape Plan’s fifth full-length album, ‘One of Us is the Killer,’ is set to drop on May 14, right in the middle of the act’s current tour with the Faceless and Royal Thunder. The massively anticipated album will hit fans like a corkscrew stab to the gut, with twisted and violent turns penetrating deep.

Dillinger’s video for ‘When I Lost My Bet’ plays like a deranged horror-art piece, depicting bloody umbilical chord connections between one being’s stomach and another’s mouth, ‘When I Lost My Bet’ almost has a grindcore edge to it, accompanying Dillinger’s unparalleled sense of spastic hardcore.

“I can hear [the influence of old punk and hardcore records] a lot,” singer Greg Puciato tells Noisecreep about ‘One of Us is the Killer.’

“I can definitely hear that in some of the riffs, which are really aggressive. It’s not a blatant hardcore record or anything like that. I actually think this is the most all over the place and weirdest record we’ve ever written. It’s the first one since I joined the band where Ben [Weinman, guitar] has sent me songs and I’ve been like, ‘What the f— is happening? This sounds like a beehive!’”

Bouncing Souls 'The Greenball Crew' EP reissued in vinyl

May 20, 2013 marks the 20th anniversary of The Bouncing Souls first self-released CD The Greenball Crew EP as well as Chunksaah Records birth. The original release was only 1,000 CDs and was out of print within the year.

To celebrate their two-decades anniversary, the EP will be re-issued for the first time, redesigned and remastered for a vinyl-only release. It will be available for pre-order and only pressed for the amount of pre-orders received with sales closing on May 20, 2013. Pre-orders are available now at Chunksaah.

In addition to this, The Good, the Bad, and the Argyle and Maniacal Laughter are also being re-issued on a limited vinyl on Chunksaah. Details of those re-issues will be forthcoming shortly.

Bryan Kienlen shared his thought about reissued EP

"The Greenball Crew EP is a lot of things, but mostly it's a snapshot of four guys learning how to play music. To be fair, this collection of songs does have its moments, but we've generally regarded it as a real turd. But there's no accounting for taste and if anyone genuinely digs it, then more power to 'em. In addition to blindly feeling around in the dark for how to write songs, it was a real learning experience in the whole process of recording and releasing a CD on our own. By the time this thing came out, the songs were years old and we had already turned a corner as a band, finally finding ourselves with the writing of "Joe Lies" (our self-proclaimed "first good song"), among others, and wanted nothing to do with these weird old songs. Only 1,000 copies were pressed, most of them selling right away at the release party at Trenton's legendary City Gardens. We sold the remainder on our first U.S. tour (with our fellow New Brunswick punks and new friends, Lifetime), and decided never to re-press it. We even went so far as to start recording over the master copy to save money. Despite the demand, we thought is best that the world not be exposed to such sonic lameness. Had it not been for K8, we would never have re-released it; but it is hard to say no to K8 when she asks us all sweet and stuff."

Killswitch Engage 'Disarm the Decent' at no.1 rock album chart

Killswitch Engage will hit the road on their first tour in support of "Disarm the Descent" this summer. They will be supported by As I Lay Dying, Miss May I and Affiance, ARTIST direct reports.

Killswitch Engage earned a Top 10 debut, placing ‘Disarm the Descent’ at No. 7 on this week’s chart. The disc sold 48,000 copies, which helped land the album at No. 7 on the tally. The album matches the high water mark for Killswitch Engage, who also debuted at No. 7 with their self-titled 2009 release.

‘Disarm the Descent’ features the return of the band’s original frontman, Jesse Leach, who had been absent from their recordings for over a decade while Howard Jones fronted the group. The album also topped the Rock Albums chart, bowing at No. 1.

Jesse Leach said: "We look forward to sharing this tour with our old friends and brothers in metal As I Lay Dying. I personally have never had the chance to tour with them and I am looking forward to having such a quality band out with us to give this tour even more fire! We will also be joined by a talented and up-and-coming band Miss May I. Thanks to all the U.S. fans for your support! Our live show will be full on energy with all of us ready to take this to a whole new level."

Terror unleashed "The Most High" video

Los Angeles hardcore vanguard Terror are unleashing their new album, ‘Live by the Code,’ on April 9. Now they're unleashed "The Most High" video.

Having been around for just over a decade, Terror rose to prosperity early in their career with the 2003 EP ‘Lowest of the Low’ and the band’s debut full-length, ‘One With the Underdogs,’ which was released in 2004. The group’s fifth album, ‘Live by the Code,’ continues Terror’s pure hardcore tradition, as showcased in ‘The Most High.’

‘The Most High’ tells the story of how hardcore music offered Terror a great deal of meaning growing up, despite constant exposure to negative surroundings. Along with shining a spotlight on the band’s connection with hardcore, ‘The Most High’ celebrates the rowdiest crowds in underground music while paying tribute to the bands that inspired Terror to pick up their respective instruments.

Terror will hit the stage with Lamb of God & Decapitated in May/June!

The 2013 All Stars Tour will feature Every Time I Die, Terror, and many more

The 2013 All Stars Tour has revealed their lineups. Coming from many different genre backgrounds, the tour will feature Every Time I Die as headliners, along with Chelsea Grin, Veil of Maya, Terror + many more.

This year’s tour will be the third annual installment of the All Stars Tour. The 2012 edition of All Stars was headlined by Suicide Silence. However, no official tour dates for the 2013 All Stars Tour have been revealed, but nearly the full lineup has been confirmed for public consumption.

“We’ve always put a lot of effort into making this band work and when we perform we do so at the highest level of intensity, so to finally be deemed an ‘All Star’ is a dream come true,” says Every Time I Die vocalist Keith Buckley.

“I plan on relaxing in a hot tub with Wade Boggs or smoking huge cigars with Ronnie Harmon talking about our visits to Hollywood. Those are just some casual things us All Stars do when we’re not giving 110%. But that’s rare. This tour has a solid line-up and we’re excited to be a part of it. See you all this summer.”

Along with Every Time I Die, Chelsea Grin, Veil of Maya + Terror, All Stars 2013 will showcase Stray From the Path, Capture the Crown, Iwrestledabearonce, For All Those Sleeping + Dayshell. Other acts Volumes + Struc/tures will also perform on select dates, and All Stars promise to announce even more bands soon.

Cancer Bats 'Sonic Mind Assault video is up!

Cancer Bats, Toronto-based southern-metal influenced hardcore band have posted their video for "Sonic Mind Assault." The song appears on their 2012 album Dead Set On Living.

The band's influence steered away from the "traditional hardcore record" and took a wide variety of influences from rock bands including Fleet Foxes. Liam Cormier when asked about his influences stated: "In a lot of ways we get really inspired by non-metal bands. For me, I find I really like looking at other things because I just don't want to make a traditional hardcore record lyrically. So for me, I listen to a lot of indie rock and I've been getting super psyched on a lot of that, like the new 'Helplessness Blues' by Fleet Foxes".

The quartet announced that they would play several release shows on April 21, 2012. They have aimed to play in six different venues across London, UK in the shape of a pentagram in promotion of their fourth album.
