Muse to start recording new material next year

Matt Bellamy has revealed that he expects the band to start recording new material next year.

Bellamy said that the group are currently on their usual break between albums but that he expects them to begin initial work on the follow up to the 2012 album 'The 2nd Law' in 2014. The singer revealed the details while speaking to Billboard about the band's new concert film Muse - Live At Rome Olympic Stadium, July 2013.

"Early next year I think we'll probably take a break for a few months and at some point next year we'll start writing new music," Bellamy said. "I think if everyone is up for it, we'll start recording music sometime next year."

Muse - Live At Rome Olympic Stadium will be released in 4K, otherwise known as Ultra High Definition, which equals 8.8 million pixels, four more times than the current cinema industry standard. Twenty cinemas in 20 global cities, including Sydney, London, Los Angeles, Rome, Tokyo, Paris and Rio, will stage an advance screening of the movie on November 5 and on November 7 the film will be screened in 100 cinemas worldwide. The movie was filmed in front of a 60,000 capacity crowd this summer and features performances of the songs 'Uprising', 'Supermassive Black Hole', 'Time Is Running Out' and 'Plug In Baby.'

Earlier this year Bellamy recently suggested that the band will celebrate their 20th anniversary by embarking on a celebratory tour next year.
