Reggae stars UB40 have announced a series of UK arena dates for June 2013 and a new studio album, 'Getting Over The Storm', which will be released later this year on Universal/Virgin Records.
The tour dates, which will take place at The Skydome Arena in Coventry on Friday, 14th June, and the Planet Ice Arenas in Peterborough (17th June), Isle of Wight (20th June) and Cardiff (Friday, 21st June), are UB40's first since their sell-out tour of 2010, where the band performed their classic debut album 'Signing Off' in its entirety to celebrate the 30th anniversary of its release.
The band has been nominated for the Grammy Award for Best Reggae Album four times, and in 1984, were nominated for the Brit Award for Best British Group. One of the world's best-selling music artists, UB40 have sold over 70 million records.
UB40 were influenced by the many blues parties they attended as teenagers in the multicultural Balsall Heath area of Birmingham. Their love of ska, reggae and early lovers rock inspired such original tracks as "King", "Madam Medusa", "Food for Thought", "Signing Off" and "One in Ten".
